2020 has definitely been a very turbulence year so far. Our human tendency to ignore non-immediate threats until they are upon us has led to an unpleasant wakeup call. It seems like we were all too busy, depending on technology to solve our problems and forgot to trust ourselves,
It’s our own personal responsibility to live consciously, actively and continuously.
We now realise that the COVID-19 pandemic is a part of a bigger problem arising from our inability to care for the natural world. It is our obligation to treat our planet better, to treat the animals that we share this planet with better, and most importantly – treat each other better. 2020 is a wakeup call for a massive change.
But from these conclusions, we might derive hope. Surely, humanity can pull this off together, especially when it relates to common interests.
Using the power of giving back – giving back to each other, to mother earth, to animals and to all living creatures. As humans, we are rewarded by a rush of hormones and other chemical transmitters whenever we collaborate with each other. It gives us a sense of doing good, and we are rewarded by these feelings once we share information and innovations. This is why donating time and efforts to worthy causes is essential.

But what can be done to make sure that activism will translate into meaningful action?
It’s easy to feel insignificant in the bigger picture and we might even feel like there is nothing we can do to help fight the cause. But what we have to keep in mind, is that some of the world's most special achievements were all done by regular people who decided that inaction was not an option.
We all collectively contribute to the world and if we don't like what is happening around us, we can either add to the world by doing our small part to improve society, or we can sit back and watch as things get worse, hoping that the problem doesn't come to our door one day.
There are things all of us can do to support equality and tolerance, we just need to go out and do them. Whether you participate in protests, make a donation, sign petitions or educate yourself and others, make sure you are part of the change by taking responsibility, and by spreading awareness.
Knowing what needs to change and bringing attention to it is crucial, then we can step up and create a change.
